Process
One of the things I love about my process, is how personal I can make it for the people I work for. It includes a lot of collaboration, photos and input from both parties in order to achieve a great outcome.
I take the photo that I have been given as a reference and carry out a detailed digital analysis of the subject to ensure that my colour palette is as true to life as possible. When I’m happy that it’s an accurate representation, I get to work on sketching and painting. This process ensures a vivid and realistic finished piece.
I first start with a rough sketch onto a canvas.
Then I get to work on adding colour and texture into the painting. This takes some time, particularly with animals.
More detailing....
Finally, I add in the eyes - this is my favourite part to do as it feels like everything comes together and the subject comes alive.
I then paint on a background that will compliment the subject.
